Dancing in the Dark is designed to cause you to pause and reflect, to think deeply about the life you are living. It is a montage—a reflection of life in all of its poignancy and passion. The strength of these stories is their common humanity. Although they are uniquely personal you will re-live your own life stories while reading them.
Some of the essays are theological. “Does Jesus Love You When You Spill Your Milk?” examines the unconditional love of God, while “No Easy Answers” and “Does Steel Float?” takes a hard look at suffering and death. Other essays focus on our culture and what’s happening in the world around us. These invite you to think about current affairs from a fresh perspective
What Others Are Saying
“Dancing in the Dark,” is Richard Exley at his best. He packs more soul stirring truth in a single story than many writers do in an entire book.
—Karen Hardin, President, Priority PR Group & Literary Agency
"Richard Exley’s writing is moving, practical, vivid, filled with the Word, often raw, and in a style he might refer to as “Blue Collar.” His stories evoked memories of my past and I found myself tearing up on more than one occasion. Although he often speaks of the frailties and troubles of man, he always gives us hope through the Word and the grace of Jesus."
—Frank Davis, Pastor, Author, and Attorney
"No one can share a story of hope, inspiration and the powerful message of God’s love as well as Richard Exley. “Dancing in the Dark,” is more than a book to read. It is a companion to walk with you through life. Richard Exley has given all of us a wonderful gift. Keep this companion close and your life will be richer."
—Dr. Chuck Stecker, Author, International Speaker, President of A Chosen Generation
"Richard Exley has done it again! “Dancing in the Dark” is a must read. His heartfelt stories and penetrating insights will encourage you no matter how dark the night. Get a copy for yourself and several for your friends."
—Sharon Stienman, Author: “Shattered: Coping With the Pain of Divorce”
